The Centenary Committee decided that for our celebratory year each hole on the Course be
named by the eighteen oldest Captains with their own descriptions of the holes as follows.
1st - Colin Campbell 1962 - A BRIDGE TOO FAR
2nd - Ralph Perkins 1968 - GRASPING SYCAMORE
An apt description for the first hole. A tough opening par 3 where all
members are happy to see their shots cross over the bridge onto dry
land beyond. A par here is a great start to any competition.
Seemingly straightforward Par 5. Second shot, however, is bedevilled by a
centrally placed solitary tree and a steeply sloping fairway.
